What Is a Retention Hearing?

Serving Families Throughout Garden City

When the county seizes a vehicle as a result of a misdemeanor DWI, the law requires that there be a retention hearing with 15 days of the arrest. In this hearing, a judge determines whether the vehicle can be retained by the county until the criminal case is resolved. If you have been charged with a DWI, contact Nassau County criminal defense lawyer Daniel Russo for a free consultation.
